When people manage to beat old age, there will be an increase in the total population which will not be matched by a corresponding increase in resources. More people will have to depend on the same supply of water, land and other resources. There are also benefits associated with beating old age and people living longer lives. For instance, if scientists make people to live longer lives there will be retention of skilled workers in the labor force.
