Description

Do you think the US Muslim community is different from that in the Middle East?

Yes, I believe the two communities have similarities like their religion but they are also very different in practices. The US Muslim community is heavily influenced by modern US community unlike the Middle East where there is little outside influence and people have held on to traditions for the longest time. A good example is that Muslim men and women mix freely in public places which is very wrong in the Middle East.

  1. What is the meaning of the Muslim religious dress to both men and women?

I believe that I should speak for the ladies because I am one. For ladies, the wearing of hijab which covers the face and burqa which is the flowing dress is considered a good practice for a good Muslim girl who values traditions and morals. They type of face cover however like fully open face or eyes only is the choice of an individual. Muslim girls here in the US however, do not always where these flowing dresses but whatever outft they choose has to be decent and cover them fully. Here, even heads don’t really have to be covered.
