Cooked Notes

  • From the observations that I made from the participant’s shopping behavior in Walmart, it is no doubt that several customers in groceries have different purchasing behavior patterns. These buying cultures are influenced by several factors such as the sex of a person and the prices of the commodities.
  • Our participant in the study demonstrates that the female gender is interested in buying of their favorite items such as perfumes. It is because; the perfume section in the supermarket is the first place that she goes. Moreover, the lotion corner of the supermarket was flowing with young ladies who were surveying the prices of the products. The beauty products attract more ladies that their men counterparts.
  • Besides, she indicates to us that purchasing of items in the grocery store is primarily influenced by the quality of the good and the price. That is why many people in the supermarket were observed surveying the products. For instance, the foodstuff corner had more people who were seen looking at the prices of the products versus the quality of the product.
  • Equally, the observation of the man who bought a Newspaper in the supermarket and rushed to the cashier to make payments indicates that the male gender purchases specific items in the supermarkets and that they take the least time possible.
  • Similarly, the observations from the market reveal to us that customers in a grocery store make more purchases of foodstuffs than any other commodity. For example, this is shown by the overcrowding that is present in the foodstuff corner.
  • It is also clear from the observations that a couple in a supermarket is likely to purchase more of the products than a person. It is demonstrated by the quantity of the products in the trolleys of the young man and the lady in the foodstuff corner.
  • Besides, the observation that was made inside the supermarket reveals to us that customers are attracted to buy items that have promotions. This is a good market strategy for selling of those items which have a low market demand. For example, in the observations that were made, our participant in the study purchases several products which had a promotion.
  • Equally, the manner in which the supermarket has been organized has been done with the goal of ensuring that Walmart Supermarket attracts as many customers as possible. For instance, at the entrance of the supermarket, some flowers make the place very beautiful. This has a psychological effect on the customers which compels them to shop in the grocery.
  • Equally, the supermarket has don’ts which regulate the behavior of the customers while inside the grocery.
  • Similarly, the observations made at Walmart Supermarket indicate to us that the grocery has excellent customer care services. This is explained by the roles that are played by the attendants of the supermarket. For instance, one of the attendants helps our participant in the study to park her car.
  • Similarly, the most expensive products have been arranged in a manner that they can easily be spotted by the customers. This is a good marketing strategy because it makes the customers see them and therefore make a decision on whether they can purchase them.
